El género es un tema que ha cobrado interés en el ámbito académico dada la influencia considerable que tiene en el desarrollo de los individuos y la sociedad. En el Departamento de Casanare (Colombia) se evidencia cómo se mantienen relaciones basadas en estereotipos y prejuicios sobre lo femenino y lo masculino, por lo que la presente investigación busca comprender las representaciones sociales de los roles de género en niños y niñas del municipio de Yopal. A través de investigación cualitativa de tipo de representaciones sociales, se aplicó una entrevista a profundidad a 15 niños y niñas de 8 a 11 años, de la zona urbana del municipio de Yopal. Encontrando como resultado que se mantiene la transmisión cultural y familiar de los estereotipos de género, asignando roles y tareas específicas para cada uno, generando que los niños y niñas establezcan relaciones interpersonales basadas en los mismos. Analizando los resultados a la luz de la teoría Ecológica de sistemas de Bronfenbrenner, se aprecia la relación con el microsistema y macrosistema tiene gran influencia en la construcción de las representaciones sociales de los roles de género durante la infancia. Se concluye que los y las participantes tienen ideas definidas sobre los roles de género que influyen en su forma de comportarse y relacionarse.

Gender is a subject that has gained interest in the academic field given the considerable influence it has on the development of individuals and society. In the Department of Casanare (Colombia) it is evident how relationships based on stereotypes and prejudices about feminine and masculine gender are maintained, for which the present investigation seeks to understand the social representations of gender roles in boys and girls in the municipality of Yopal. Through qualitative research of the type of social representations, an in-depth interview was applied to 15 boys and girls from 8 to 11 years old, from the urban area of the municipality of Yopal. Finding as a result that the cultural and family transmission of gender stereotypes is maintained, assigning specific roles and tasks for each one, generating that boys and girls establish interpersonal relationships based on them. Analyzing the results considering Bronbrenfenner's Ecological theory of systems, the relationship with the microsystem and macrosystem is appreciated, which has a great influence on the construction of social representations of gender roles during childhood. It is concluded that the participants have specific ideas about the gender roles that influence their way of behaving and interacting.
